Student Profile

Katharine

“Trough Academia Cerebra, I was able to connect with professionals across both the legal and fashion worlds, which expanded my understanding of how these industries intersect. Those connections, combined with the program’s Interdisciplinary approach, reinforced my interest in luxury brand management and the legal frameworks that support it, and have continued to shape my academic work and long-term career goals.”

Background

During my time at Cardozo Law School, I served as the Senior Articles Editor for the Cardozo Arts & Entertainment Law Journal, and interned for Amadeus Hospitality, the Chief Judge of the U.S. Court of International Trade, and a boutique international trade law firm.

Discovery

Academia Cerebra opened me up to an entirely new side of the fashion world—one that blends creativity with strategy. It helped me discover a deep interest in luxury brand management and the legal frameworks that support it. I joined Academia Cerebra during my second year of law school, initially drawn to its interdisciplinary approach.

Through the program, I was introduced to brand positioning, consumer psychology, and the business mechanics of the luxury sector. These experiences broadened my perspective beyond law and sparked a lasting interest in how brands build cultural relevance and ethical value in a global market.

Academia Cerebra gave me the confidence to explore this intersection in my academic work, internships, and long-term career goals. I have gained skills in strategic brand thinking, visual storytelling, brand identity development, crossdisciplinary research and analysis, and presentation and communication in professional settings.
